The Exotic Beauty of African Violets
It is strange how crazy people get about flowers. Up to a year ago, I
couldn't care less about them. You see, I have always had what I would
call a brown thumb. By that I mean that I cannot make anything grow.
All I could do is make plants die.
I was never all that depressed about my amazing ability to kill plants.
I always took it as just the way things were. Getting my first African
Violet, however, changed all of that.

Artificial Flowers - A Lovely Alternative
As much as I love flowers, they don't stand a chance in my house. I
might receive fresh flowers every so often and they wither and die in
the same time period that anyone's would.
But, if you give me a potted plant or flower for my house, it will be
beyond hope within a month. I have a problem with remembering to water
them. The unfortunate part is that I love flowers.

Getting the Most from Garden Centers
I like going to nurseries to shop for my garden every spring, but since the emergence of garden centers in practically every store I regularly shop in, I hardly visit the nursery anymore.
Why pay fifty dollars for a new lilac bush at a fancy greenhouse when I can buy one at Home Depot for only twenty-five bucks?

A Brief Overview of the Coffee Plant
When we fix our morning cup of Joe, we seldom, if ever, ponder the
origin of the delicious brew. We all know it's an expensive but, for
most, a necessary luxury, which we pick up at the grocery in bags or
cans.
Do you know what the coffee plant looks like? Do you imagine
coffee beans bristling off the branches? Just how does it end up as the
tasty beverage we all love? The story of the coffee plant is
interesting indeed.

The Simple Joys of Screened In Porches
One of the most pleasant activities I enjoy in the summer is sitting
out on my porch or in my backyard as the sun sets. By this time, the
temperature has cooled down, but the air is still warm.
This is the perfect time to enjoy being outside without feeling like I
am burning up. The downfall of this, however, is the amount of
mosquitoes and bugs that hang out in my yard.

The Beauty of Climbing Plants
We recently installed trellises against the east and west sides of our
home. We also put in an arbor over the walkway area to our garage.
We did this so that we could enjoy some of the climbing plants
that we had seen at our local nursery. After the supports were
installed we made a trip to the nursery to find which plants would do
best in the areas we had chosen.

The Many Advantages of Artificial Flowers
Is your thumb not as green as you wish it were? Looking for some
plant-like beauty in your home? You should consider buying some artificial flowers instead of the real thing.
Artificial flowers have come along way in recent years. At times, you
will be hard pressed to tell the difference between a real plant and
one made of plastic or silk. Some are so realistic you may find
visitors bending to sniff your artificial flower rose necklaces before
they realize they aren’t real.

It's 1 800 Flowers To The Rescue
1
800 flowers has come to the rescue to save me from the inevitable
annual forget Grandma’s birthday event. For some reason, I can’t seem
to remember my grandmother’s birthday. I know that my grandmother was
born on January 30th and I even have it written on my calendar.
It
really isn’t even necessary for me to have it written. I do have it in
my head, but her birthday seems to fall right at the time that I am
just unwinding from the holiday season and the next thing I know, it’s
February.

When you're getting ready for the next growing season, you probably
have your peat pots and seedling trays at the ready. You may also have
a stash of plastic flower pots to receive your transplants.
This is the ho-hum use of the lowly

the box uses of the humble plastic flower pot, for use as a gift to a

My Love of the Bird of Paradise Flower
I used to live in California with my true love. She is of course,
still my true love, but we no longer live in California. There is a
lot to say for living in that state. It is really one of the most
beautiful places that I've ever seen.
It is just drop dead gorgeous, from
the ocean to the mountains. But one of the things about it that I like
the very best of all is the flora. Why I remember like it was
yesterday. When I lived there there was a Bird of Paradise Flower
growing at nearly every corner, and that is a fact.

The Benefits of Artificial Flowers
Do you think that giving an artificial flower arrangement to someone is
a very stupid idea? Some people do not see any value at all in silk
flowers because they feel that half of the fun of flowers is that they
are vibrant and alive. I think that they did not consider the drawbacks
of real flower bouquets, such as wilting, requiring care, lasting only
a short period of time, and falling flower petals.

to worry about the correct gardening tools for the many different tasks

Artificial Flowers - From Hell
My neighbor is totally devoid of any artistic sense. The materials he

demented scientific experiment. You would think that he would be an
excellent horror set designer for Hollywood.

Tips for Utilizing Pool and Patio Furniture
During the summer many people buy new pool and patio furniture. Your yard is the place where you can rest peacefully, thus you need to have the right furniture for it. You can just lie down and sunbathe, read a book or just smell the rouses and take pleasure in being in the open.
You won't enjoy it so much if you have to go stand or sit in a not very comfortable garden chair. Pool and patio furniture are what you need to make your backyard your most favourite outdoor living space. Of course, this will cost you some money but it will be well worth it. Be careful when planning to buy new pool and patio furniture.
As retailers sell out of the best styles fast, then you should keep your eyes open for proper furniture and once you like something, make sure you get it before it's sold to someone else.

Great Use for Straw Bale
A straw bale is usually sane as something that has little or no use.
But if you were to take a closer look you would see that a straw bale
is durable it can be sold for the bedding for animals, landscape
supply, and used in construction. They are also on and burned to
either get rid of them or provide warmth.
The straw is the plant material that is dry caused by it being left in
the fields after a plant has fully matured. Upon the maturation of the
plant is harvested and anything that is not used is tossed aside. That
is usually the genesis of a straw bale.

A Great Way to Send Flowers
Men giving flowers to women probably goes way back to around somewhere
near the dawn of man. It is really easy to understand why women adore
flower so. They are beautiful to look at and very sweet to smell.
Though they’re sometimes considered a bit cliché, sending flowers has
been a standby in romantic relationships since the dawn of time.
Granted, some of this predisposition toward flower-giving is more than
likely a part of culture we come from as depicted in nearly every old
movie and television show. I can recall the husband or boyfriend
usually always showing up with the ubiquitous bouquet of flowers when
he knows he’s done something wrong. A man's way of paying penance.
Nonetheless, flowers make up an aspect of adornment and decoration in
almost every culture worldwide, so there must be something universally
attractive about them.

Tips for Organic Farming
I really surprised myself by becoming involved with organic farming
just if you are short years ago, and boy am I glad that I did. I was
going through some tough times in my little home. I live in a small
ranch style house in the California country, attempting to make a
living as a handyman. Work turned out to be a little more scarce than
I first had anticipated and times call for a little belt tightening to
say the least.
I got a book on organic farming, figuring that if I grew
my own food, it would help things along for me. My feeling was that I
would use up some of my increasingly abundant free time, save some
money on food, and perhaps best of all, began eating more healthy
diet. Once more, it would give me a sense of pride. Having something
to do keep your mind sound and your spirits from sinking.

handled herself.
