Do you think that giving an artificial flower arrangement to someone is a very stupid idea? Some people do not see any value at all in silk flowers because they feel that half of the fun of flowers is that they are vibrant and alive. I think that they did not consider the drawbacks of real flower bouquets, such as wilting, requiring care, lasting only a short period of time, and falling flower petals.

But since these people see no worth in artificial flowers, they still think that all of the inconveniences of real flowers are worth it. I don’t agree with this silly type of snobbery. After all, flowers are supposed to cheer people up. As far as I am concerned, the only difference between imitation flowers and real flowers is that artificial flowers can cheer people up for a whole lot longer.


Artificial flowers may not look quite like real flowers, but manufacturers have improved their appearance in recent years. Contemporary products are so well made that many people don’t notice that they are just artificial. They will often mistakenly think that a synthetic flower arrangement is the real deal.  They can only notice the difference once they look at them closely.

The absence of the mess that characterizes a real bouquet is the only clue that tips people off to the fact that they are looking at artificial flowers.  They will notice that there is no water in the face, or that there are no flower petals on the ground.
 
I think that the choice is clear, if this is the biggest difference between real flowers and artificial flowers. Why would you put up with all of that mess and bother, when you can avoid them easily?

I will usually not send a real flower arrangement to someone who seems to be feeling down. I almost always send artificial flowers instead.  Artificial flowers will last forever and make people feel better without making a mess all over the floor. They will continue to provide joy and happiness, lighting up the room and increasing the cheer in good spirits of all who are inside of it. You can argue that artificial flowers do not have the romantic qualities of real flowers. However, they also have qualities that no real flower can outdo.
